Is there interest in keeping a running thread of which romance novels are being read currently by forum members? There can be as little as the title and author mentioned in a post or a more detailed comments post. People can comment on other folks' reading, if they so wish.
I'll start it off...
This summer I heard a lot of buzz about Never Love a Lawman, a western historical by Jo Goodman. This is the first time Goodman's tackled a western, to my knowledge. But since I've read Goodman's entire backlist and have a newly discovered love for westerns, this book went on my auto-buy list. I'm about half-way through right now, and it certainly doesn't disappoint. It's one of those perfect romance novels, where prose, characters, story, setting, world-building, and writing all come together just right. Has anyone else read it? If so, what did you think of it?

I'm reading Jane Porter's Easy on the Eyes. This has variously been classified under women's fiction, chick-lit, and lately, mom-lit (which makes me gnash my teeth). Her heroines are older, have been around the block a few times, have had tragedies/misfortunes befall them, but work through their realistic, relatable problems and of course do come away with a solid romantic HEA at the end. I find Jane Porter's stories addictive. Is it her style, or just knowing how closely her books pattern her gutsy life that makes it so? Not sure.

Finished yesterday Alpha and Omega book two, Hunting Ground by Patricia Briggs. It was a solid read. It would be nice to find another series that follows a couple and their romance through more than just one book. I read JD Robb's Eve Dallas books, and Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series, but any other couple series hasn't really done it for me. Perhaps the Alpha and Omega series will. It's not quite up to the other series I've read, but I think it has a solid start and I'm interested in where Briggs brings it from here.
Also liked the twist on Arthurian legend. I have a soft spot for plotlines around the once and future king.
