If you're here, you probably know this already...but just in case you don't, you'll want to swing by http://jprstudies.org and check out the first issue of IASPR's new publication, the Journal of Popular Romance Studies.

I've been sending the following paragraphs out to interested people for publicity, and if you want to cut and paste and send them, too, please do.

Quote

JPRS (“Jeepers,” out loud) is a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to research and scholarship on representations of romantic love in global popular culture, now and in the past. Published freely at http://jprstudies.org, issue 1.1 of the journal features five essays, five book reviews, and an interview with bestselling African American romance author Beverly Jenkins. We plan to publish issue 1.2 next early spring, and 2.0 next summer.

JPRS is published by the International Association for the Study of Popular Romance, and this first issue came out in conjunction with "Theorizing Popular Romance," IASPR’s second annual international conference, which ran from August 5-8 at the Palais d'Academie in Brussels, Belgium. Over the three-day conference, thirty-two papers were presented by scholars of film, literature, television and digital media, from over a dozen countries.

I'd also love to see more submissions for the next few issues, so if you have work that's ready to send out for peer review, please send it our way!
